FRIENDS... SATURDAY SPECIAL FREEBIE CARD

Hello and welcome...
We have an 8" square ivory and black card looking for a new home

You may recognise the die from Thursday's card, this time displayed in a vertical position

The die and embossing folder are two of my very favourite items to use, I promise I won't be inundating you with them, unlike the baubles on the last 3 Festive Friday's cards!

I am going to be showing a video on how this was made, I think it will be on YouTube this Monday, I will confirm this later

I've not added a verse so the winner of the card can add their own to suit.  The card would also be suitable to go in one of the deep IKEA's frames and make a lovely present for one of your friends.  When you do receive it you will need to 'fluff up' the butterfly's wings again

Just leave me a comment on this post and the winner will be picked on Monday, you have until 9.30am to comment

As usual, we ship international plus it doesn't matter if you have won in the past, the draw is done using Random.org Name/Number Picker

We can't include you, in the draw, if you post as  'anonymous', so please leave some form of identification eg first name, nickname etc

FESTIVE FRIDAY 4

Hello and welcome...
It's quite alarming how the weeks fly by, 4 weeks ago I started 'Festive Friday'!

Today's card is actually a 'blast from the past' as I've had a busy week (not being well and we had the pretty 2 tier cake etc).  The card was also a commission

This is an 8" square ivory card, I cut a smaller piece of the same card and embossed it then added dries clear glue to the edges and sprinkled diamond snow glitter around them

I covered another piece of ivory card with a piece of  double sided adhesive then added gilding flakes and burnished the flakes in with a rubit scrubit.  As only a border would be showing I removed the 'inside' and will/would use it for another project.  The border is all the same colours, it's the angle of the card makes the top half look darker!

I used the same two bauble dies that were on last week's card to die cut and emboss in gold mirri

A rope style gold ribbon was attached to the top of the baubles and secured behind the gilding flakes border

I typed a personal sentiment on white paper (should have used ivory/cream) and adhered it to the centre of the larger bauble

I also added a personal verse to the inside

INGREDIENTS:
  • ivory card ~ Craft UK
  • embossing folder ~ 'sprigs of holly' Crafter's Companion
  • cosmic shimmer dries clear glue ~ Creative Expressions (CE)
  • diamond snow ~ glitter jewels CE
  • gilding flakes ~ 'mulled wine' CE
  • double sided adhesive ~ Woodware
  • rubit scrubit ~ Ranger
  • baubles ~ CE (2016 collection)
  • gold rope ribbon ~ my stash
  • platinum machine ~ Spellbinders

NO WORDS....

Hello and welcome...
I love this Spellbinders Die!!

It is called 'Mystical Embrace Die Set'

There are 3 dies to this set and I think that when you use the main part of the set  you don't have to do very much to create a lovely card

The colour theme is black and ivory with the little pop of red

I die cut and embossed the largest die in a pearlised ivory card stock and adhered it to my A5 black card using a spray adhesive

I then die cut the centre piece on the same ivory card using the two smaller dies and repeated this 4 times and glued them together to give me a raised border

The final die cut was on black card for the oval shape in the centre

I am also in the middle of a commission and some of the off cuts from the heart shape die that I'm using for that card produce these lovely shaped hearts, so I die cut and embossed on red card stock to get 2 hearts for this card

INGREDIENTS:
  • black card ~ Crafter's Companion (CC)
  • pearlised ivory card ~ CC
  • red card ~ CC
  • spray adhesive ~ CC
  • die ~  Mystical Embrace Die Set/Spellbinders
  • Platinum machine ~ Spellbinders
Thank you for taking the time to visit, I hope my designs have given a little inspiration.

SENDING YOU SMILES

Hello and welcome...
We have a very sparkly purple card today.  I apologise for the background!

The card is a white A5 size and I began by die cutting the background die from the Indonesian Collection.  There are 5 dies in the set and I used dies 1 and 3, these do not have an outer cutting edge

I cut a piece of purple card stock, slightly larger than the die and covered it with a piece of double sided adhesive, then placed the two dies onto it and ran it through my Platinum Machine.  I ensured the adhesive sheet was not covering the border as I wanted that plain

Once die cut and embossed I removed the adhesive sheet and sprinkled Glitter Jewels Diamond Snow and burnished it in.  I can't enthuse enough about this glitter!  If anyone is interested I do have a few pots remaining in gold, silver, rose pink, red and a blue, they're £3.50 each and no p&p!
If you click on the card you'll see the gorgeous sparkle from these glitters

I used a spray adhesive to secure the die cut to the base card then, using another stamp from yesterday's stamp set, I stamped it onto purple card using Versafine Onyx Black Ink.  I covered the sentiment with another piece of double sided adhesive I die cut it with one of the Stitched Flags from the Frames And Tags Die Set

I removed the backing and sprinkled Diamond Snow over it then added mounting foam to the back and adhered it to the card base

I made a small white satin bow, added a 'dollop' of 3D glue to the side of the tag and placed the bow on top.  I added 5 tiny pink roses around the bow and to complete I glittered a white butterfly with Diamond Snow, added two pink pearls to the spine and adhered to the centre of the main focal point

INGREDIENTS:
  • white card stock ~ Papermill Direct
  • purple card stock ~ Creative Expressions (CE)
  • Indonesian Collection Background Die Set ~ CE CED14001
  • Frames And Tags Stitched Flags ~ CE CED4317
  • Glitter Jewels Diamond Snow ~ CE

Hello and welcome...

We have a top folding notelet size card for you today.  The finished card measures 10.5 x 14.5cm, I cut a smaller black panel then a smaller white panel, the white panel is the one being decorated today

I used one of the stamps from a set designed by John Lockwood when he was with Creative Expressions, I don't have the name of this set and it doesn't appear to be on Creative Expressions Web Site.  I stamped the sentiment using a Versafine Onyx Black Ink Pad

The embossing folder was a freebie in a set by Crafter's Companion and I think I bought this several months ago.  Any embossing folder will work but if you don't have a thin oblong folder you just need to be careful positioning your card and folder before running it through your embossing machine

I positioned the e/f above the sentiment and ran it through my Platinum Machine.  To add a little extra detail I scored two horizontal lines above and below the embossed area, although it isn't necessary to do this

The flower spray is yet another freebie from quite sometime ago and stamped with the same ink pad

The insert doesn't have a verse but I did stamp it with the same flower spray stamp as well as adding this to the envelope and embossing the back of the envelope

Stamps by John Lockwood

Embossing Folder/Crafter's Companion, ink pad,
WOW embossing powder, rose spray stamp

#194 UNDER THE SEA OR AT THE BEACH ~ CRAFTY CARDMAKERS' CHALLENGE. 'YOU'RE FINTASTIC'

Hello and welcome...

Our new challenge starts again at
 Crafty Cardmakers' Blog and
Judy is hosting our challenge today, the theme is either 'Under The Sea Or At The Beach'

This is my contribution to the design team

I used a white DL card and added masking tape around the 4 sides to leave a border.  I used several distress oxide inks to create the sea and sky/sunset then added some shells, adhering them with Collall 3D Glue (I bought these shells quite a few years ago!) I then used several elements from the 'Fillables' range of dies for the fishes, reeds and anchor.  These were die cut and embossed using pieces of left-over card stock

If you have a few minutes why don't you pop over and see my other 'teamies' inspirations, if you click on the link above it will take you straight there, and you may just be inspired to add a cared yourself :)

'As usual anything you care to enter is fine, a card, scrap layout, mixed media piece, some home decor, as long as it's matches either of the two above themes, please remember our 15 total challenge rule'!

  • DL white card stock ~ Woodware

CARD & CAKE ~ HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY JESSICA

Hello and welcome...

I thought I would show you what has been happening this weekend in the Fletcher household

For more years than I care to remember I have made and decorated cakes and then when my ill worsened I had to stop (I have rheumatoid arthritis to name just one problem lol), and because I have this wonderful husband (don't tell him that ;)) who I have naturally trained to my standard, I can indulge, again, in the odd one or two celebration cakes/cupcakes

I was asked to make a two tier christening/first birthday cake for today and as the cake has been safely delivered I can now post a few photos of it

The DL size card was ideal to use, especially as I had previously used a Martha Stewart punch along the side of the card, and I thought the flowers matched some of the ones on the cake

I found this paper in my stash and it was a good match for the colours on Jessica's cake,
I didn't have a rabbit die or stamp and had to draw one, as you can clearly tell!

If you've managed to read to the end of this post I thank you and 'normal' services will resume tomorrow.  It will be a late post tomorrow as a new challenge restarts again at the Crafty Cardmaker's Blog so you will see my contribution to the design team as well as announcing the winner of the freebie card

Jessica's cake is a pale lemon.  The bottom tier is chocolate and the top lemon
